Have Fun on your Run

this what i like about just running….just going, without any concern for where or how far….and just go…throw on the Hokas, and well, make it up as you go along..

Left the store,

today, this afternoon……took a few minutes to get going…saw a bunch of people heading east on our trail, so figured, course less traveled, and went west…..thought at first, maybe 6K….then, why not 8K…….and at some point how about 10……

and that’s it…..you just follow a trail, and see what’s next…boogie along asphalt, see something unpaved, go there……..get to a point where maybe you turn around, you see a hill, and you take it….you know you’re at a point where 9K is a possibility….then, well, how hard would 10K be….

why not?

what do you learn…you learn that’s why you do this…just because. a hill, YES!!!……you get to a point that, well, in order to get back to where you began, you have no choice, it’s going to be 5K one way, 5K back…..= 10K…….and yes, because since you broke your head almost 2 years ago this is still a challenge, and even thought you’ve done a few 15Ks and a few 12 and 10Ks, this distance, any distance above 5K is new, and maybe hard…

Today…though, I never thought about hard or tuff, I just felt like….there, that’s it…

I still don’t feel strong enough to run with other people……I’m not sure what’s happening…the fracture occipital apparently is healed, now it’s just a post concussion thing….the occasional headache, especially in the mornings..early mornings, that head reminds me that it’s still an issue every morning at about 5AM…..and stuffed up…I have no idea where the snot and phlegm (maybe spinal fluid?) comes from…but it’s an issue..I can still run, but continuous snot rockets, spitting to clear the crap out….with all that, running alone seems like the better option…

10K felt good…not quick (I need better than 7 minute kilometers) but good to get done, now I’ll make 10K the norm, not 6K……and when that feels okay, I’ll move up to 15K…a slow march….and I think, simple goals…this year just run…..share….instruct virtual clinics, see if I can get others onto this joy of running…….and then, see what 2022 can bring
