okay, so I’m in there somewhere……
I’m not the most photogenic personal on the planet…….but yeah Seawheeze, the last in person Seawheeze before COVID.
Of all the events I’ve taken part in – there have been a lot of them – Seawheeze is a favorite…..there are a lot of reasons, but me not being a Lululemon vision of their perfect customer, it seems odd, but it’s one of the most comfortable, most well organized that I’ve taken part in, and a whole lot of comfortable fun……every aspect of what they do was great, comfortable, and yeah, they’ve created what makes an awesome weekend.

I never feel attached to anyone brand, nor anyone product…..right now my brands of choice are On, Hoka, Brooks….and I keep trying to get Lululemon in there…..I want to love Lulu…and, I love some product…some…

Brooks: just because it seems no matter where I go, I always go back to Brooks…everything they make just fits and feels good……….On and Hoka are getting there……but recently, yep, I have fallen in love with my Hoka shoes and shorts , On’s footwear – love the pods and the feel of their shoes…..but, well, this past week I put bank on my Brooks Adrenalines, my Brooks tights..and I felt like I was home…….I still will wear and run in everything, but yeah, Brooks and Run Happy…….

Lulu…….I love the culture, I love their commitment, I’m a huge fan of Chip Wilson and like the way he approached that culture, and seriously, everything they do is just positive; there’s a reason why Lululemon’s fans are so hooked.
I’m a guy, and, yeah, I know in some ways, being a guy, an old guy, I’m not exactly a Lululemon target market……I’m sure somewhere someone cringes at me just wearing some of their gear…..
I keep wishing that what they make for us – guys? runners especially – will get better, sometimes their stuff sort of works….but, well….could be better.…
Funny, I do own some – some may say a lot -..mostly, t-shirts they’ve made for others – the Leading Edge Run Wild event here in St. Albert, the St. Albert Road Race, the Vancouver Running Company – I shop, in store (love the Whyte Ave store in Edmonton) and a lot on-line…….what I have is okay, but every so often I look, I shop, and, well, a lot doesn’t always work.
I thought with a new CEO – who’s a triathlete – things would change, and I am still waiting……I still shop (ordered a few things today for winter!) …
Oddly I guess, it’s the image attracts me……yes I do work for someone else – I’m not going to say a competitor (Lulu doesn’t really have any competition) the way Lulu presents themselves is what attracts me…I love the slogans – Sweat Once A Day – I love the commitment to customers and employees; the way they work with the all over fitness community…….they way the company dealt with COVID 19 …well done.
The idea of the Sweat Collective, and yes SeaWheeze……all good…
I know Chip Wilson is long gone, but his influence, and the company’s influence, still runs my life, in retail, doing what I do, and my active life…….I’ve bought into Growth Mindset 101, I fill in my Vision and Goals worksheet on a regular basis…..and just in relationship to customers, co-workers, and the fitness community that surrounds me….and the Lulu active life continues to inspire…

I will continue to wear everything…..like footwear, it’s whatever works, not necessarily the brand name……but, yeah, I guess I’ve drunk the Kool-Aid….
