Running Specific Socks and a Run Sunday Bloody Sunday

Yep…skipped the long run this morning…it happens….so instead, ran a nice relaxing 5K this evening….cause it felt so good…..

the body said…SLEEP!!!!!

so will go long with a swim after on Monday/tomorrow…..at from my love to run/swim shack. the Kinsmen Sport Centre

the aim right now, is building the base, slowly increasing the distance, and staying not hurt…at 62, that may be a challenge…..maybe…

I’m also taking removing the pressure…there are no run or races until the new year..the big goal is about 28 weeks away, a full marathon……so chill and just run, build the endurance and stay healthy…be positive…..

so socks?……….never used to think a lot about the subject…but, I sell them, so I should know that they’re just not socks…

right?

I’ve suffered through blisters, marathon socks, socks rolling up in the shoes, socks too low in the back, soaking wet cotton socks, and what the heck is Merino wool?

I used to like and leaned towards anything double layered….no blisters….but, they loosened up and lost their shape too quickly…..no cotton, but maybe it was the 2 layers, which yes, got rid of friction and blisters..they never got soaking wet……but not that great…no friction, but just okay…

Bring on Feetures!.…..just from the reaction I see in our store, day after day, whenever someone tries on a try-on sock….they first notice the compression, right where it’s needed, and no seam toes….and they say they just feel so good…so with every shoe, that try-on adds a sock to the sale….

I still try everything else, Wrightsocks, Stance (not a bad choice), Smartwool (I hate wool, but okay)…but like with everything, you find that brand – usually for me anything Brooks – and Feetures….I’m about to try out their Merino 10 model – merino wool with tencel eucalyptus fibres …..

I seem to have a lot of the Elite product; I’ve had a bunch of pairs in my sock drawer that I’ve had for a while ( a year?) they don’t seem to wear out..and easy to take care of and wash….just wash and dry…

so anyway, Feetures & my Hokas got me through 5K this evening….hopefully….building the base towards that marathon in May 2022
