24 Days: Never Felt Better in my Life

24 Days..okay so I’m not, and will not be running the half marathon..but I will be in Vancouver for 4 days, 8K on run day, Sunday May 1st……but on the Friday and Saturday before, I’ll throw in a couple of runs….5K each..and the day after, on the Monday, well, let’s see what happens….

Maybe I shouldn’t have bailed on the Half Marathon…..but I’ll be fine……I’m racing a 10K on Sunday May 15th, and the goal will be a Half Marathon in August…if something else catches my interest before than (a triathlon maybe?) so be it….

Honestly, right now I have my hands full……looking after the virtual clinic, 2 Run Club days every week, a third is about to enter my weekly planner in a few weeks, working at my Running Room store……yeah, busy…..so race when I can……..but I’m feeling alright.

I haven’t posted for a while….a few days……just no time, I seem to be finishing my days off dead tired…

Tuesday, after a morning of strength training, I ran a a couple of our quicker run club members….OMG, 6:30 kilometers, with a sprint to finish off a good 5K…….Wednesday morning yet another run, but I was beat..hadn’t really recovered, so I ended up slowing all down, but another 5K, and strength is built with every run…….and today….finally, a 7K run through the Edmonton River Valley that was fantastic…followed with a 1000 meter swim…..and soaking in the hot pool after couldn’t have felt any better….

Strength training seems to be helping, but I feel inspired, really good, and motivated….I don’t know what kicked in, but so many things seems to have fallen into place, my head space seem positive….

I think, actually, it’s simple……just doing stuff ……instead of sitting in front of the TV watching the news….I’m pushing myself to get outside, out of the house……and living…….

I try to just check in with the news first thing, as sad as what’s happening in Ukraine is, God help those people, but once a day is enough……..positive thoughts, and yes, I have been writing and emailing my local and national politicians, donating what and when I can…….but gotta keep doing what I can at home as well…

Anyway..too bed…tomorrow, weights, work, a possibly a run in the evening…apparently summer has arrived
