14 Days to BMO; I’m having so much fun!

Another great Sunday morning with the Sturgeon Valley Athletic Club Run Club …. still not a lot of people in the group, but it I felt positive, and it was fun……

I’m not feeling all that strong, but stronger……but older too I’m no longer a spring chicken…….

Some parts of the run, with a stronger quicker group, were a challenge, but I need that…that’s what’ll keep making me stronger….I hope…

I’ve gotta get quicker, quickly…so time for a lot of hill repeats, maybe, eventually some speed work…lots of run and rest, and strength training…….I guess, work on that personal best…and get used to feeling like a 6:09 kilometre…..can I do it? I am totally not sure……

But will give it the old college try…

How the hell did I do this?!……..8:28?….that was 22 years ago, I was 41……..and I don’t remember it feeling that fast….what I remember of it…

and I have a bit of a history with the half….2017 I did 2 of them, 2:13, and 2:18; a couple in 2016; 2:14 and 2:20, 2015 I did a 2:17…..but again, not recently and I was a lot younger……okay, in 2017 I was 58….so, no spring chicken…

so I guess time to put my head forward..and just do it

I don’t know if I’ve my training logs from back then, but, will take a look…….maybe they’ll give me a hint as what I need to do…..

I know there was a lot of cross training involved, I was still racing more, and racing triathlons….so, well…time to give things a go, and yeah, I was retired for all….

is age going to be an issue, can I?……well, I guess, you’ll never know unless you try
