I am So Sore for some reason but feel okay?

You know you build up that knowledge, 26 years of running, biking, swimming and racing…..I know what needs to be done, I understand the whole concept of rest and recovery….I also know that I’m now a senior, and that stuff is even more important, but this stuff is just so much fun.

There’s also that responsibility right? I’ve the two Run Clubs to look after….this week wasn’t so bad, or so great…still working on Building up that Sturgeon Valley Athletic Club crew…..

this week, Tuesday, one other runner….yeah, sure, it was the night of the big Oilers game…..so no surprise; and it turned out to be a great…actually what I love about this is, that a lot of those I run with now, are way quicker than me…..I can’t always keep up – the coach is never the best player – but I have to run quicker…that’s always worked for me…

actually what really worked, was doing a lot of stuff…we were always running, biking or swimming. I would add weights, yoga and spin classes…did we even take rest days?

right now, I know I need to rest, and recover………I need a day off…..that was supposed to be today, but well, it was a beautiful day, I have a bike, a tri bike, my Felt, that I haven’t had on the road for, well, since last summer……so, a short 1 hour ride, a few hills, a little bit of speed, and it felt so good……

But now (I keep looking at the pictures, how did I not die in those shoes….K Swiss, a sock with some traction….) I’m way older….that picture is 13 years ago……I’m old….recovery isn’t a given, it takes time….all I’ve read so far is that every other day would be better than every day….but, well, I’ve got two run clubs, that takes care of Tuesdays and Wednesdays and Sundays….and, well, I like to run…I guess I need to train….I do have goals…

I also want to do a lot……and who knows may even get certified at some point….I’ve just signed up for a course with Fitness Alberta, so that’s beginning….sounds like a long process, but it’s also something I wanted to do for a long time…and it’ll help with things I’m already doing….

Tomorrow, um, I should rest and recover….but, well there’s an outside spin class, then I really need to get into a pool somewhere for a swim, maybe there’ll be a walk at some point, I really wanna run…

What are the goals?…I think I’ve finally an idea what I can do, what kind of schedule I can work out……now for what races…there’s so many, but with the run clubs, my virtual clinics, I’m going to have manage stuff..

So this weekend…..well, as well as eating everything in sight, trying to sleep, keeping the feet up, I’ll dig through lists, write a few more, and well, hopefully by Monday I’ll know where I’m going……and yeah, I may run as well
