A run that I value being able to do

This morning was typical……I had no idea what I was going to do.

I knew what I wanted to do…the gym, swim? a bike, or how about a run….?

I finally decided to run, and then maybe a swim afterwards……things didn’t turn out exactly that way.

The run turned out great……

One of my fave routes with a few inprovisations…..7K, a few hills, a few interesting public washroom breaks…..for some reason our Edmonton public washrooms in the River Valley have become places where the homeless have decided to homestead…….wasn’t happy about that, but what can you do..

Most of the run was a little slower, but at points I did a little speed, but overall a good run…….some off road, across a few bridges, stopped and said hello to a few people I crossed paths with…and one I hadn’t seen for way too many years…

I didn’t get to swim……the pool was packed, I don’t mind sharing, but not today….a good run, grabbed a drink, drove home…….did some shopping……..and yeah, now…chilling.

It was another good day….hopefully not too good………I have a 12K planned tomorrow…twice over the same route……maybe it’ll be good….

Today’s other challenge was, what to wear…….not exactly summer time weather, but eventually it was going to warm up, but still a chill………so that Brooks jacket, a race shirt, my ASICS Glycerins today (almost time to retire this pair)….a cap (good old Brooks too, my shamrock lucky cap) …Brooks tights…and it was fine…the trouble with running a long the river is some spots will be warm, you turn a corner in the trees and you freeze……..so good planning..

Now bring on tomorrow
