a do-er, not watching. having fun being me

So this is where my day sort of began…….

I woke up, no real plans, other than to be out of the house when my daughter’s caregiver/aid/whatever showed up.

She arrived at 830AM, and I was gone before she got out of her vehicle…..she’s not one of may favorite people, and I think my daughter is on the same page..it seems this ladies job is to sit at our dining room table with her smart phone making sure the table doesn’t move?…….My daughter’s autistic, and need someone to be with her, and to keep her active, connected, and learning…that’s not really happening right now…..really, all this service does is give me some freedom to get out and do something….to work, and for my wife to work as well…..

I began in the gym pumping iron…like that…I have about 45 minutes more or less to workout and do some strength training before the morning’s spin class begins, so lots of upper body….seated rows, bench press on the smith machine, lat pulldowns, shoulder presses….then spin, and after, leg press, curls, extentions….

I will through a few other things in if I have time, but really I don’t need to work out arms….those other movements do that, and I push as close to failure as I can….so not much point…..calve raises maybe

The spin is always good…..honestly, I was still a bit worn out after yesterday’s spin and then evening run, but I love the beats thing……we follow the beat, switching up through fast and slower reps, more or less tension, standing and pedalling seated….each works..and I always feel so good afterwards…..

This stuff is fun…and this always happens, as soon as I bail on racing, and just do what I do for the enjoyment, it’s almost like a pressure relief valve has been opened up….this all becomes just fun….social….

dad’s changed hospitals today, so that’s a positive thing….my daughter seems glad I’m home, playing catch, shooting hoops…keeping her engaged……

I just heard this, living life one day at a time……life is just one day at a time…I’m only 64 and I think 54 days…….I think the trick is just to stay active, if an event or a race appears in the calendar along the way, and I’m up for it..I’ll just do it, and make it just a part of this being fit…

I know I have a 10K lined up for March 5th I think……so, yeah, there’s food at the finish, it looks like the weather will be okay…so I’ll include it in my planner…….and as I go along, learn, and share…….

Still, between my dad, my daughter, and me…..STRESS!!!!….but keeping active, that’s helping, keeps me grounded, and positive…
