
So yeah, after a 6.45K run….this is the lunch of champions……
Not the best, I don’t know why, but, my go-to post run snack….
Oh yes, yes, yes, I do eat healthy…this was my just desert, there was pasta and sauce, and yeah, a banana…so healthy, a lot of food for a kind of a lunch……before the C and C….

I began my day with two virtual clinics – Learn to Runners and 5Kers – and it was awesome and good….
I can talk a lot, I love running, and I love to share. coach. train. encourage…basically that seems that’s what this is, convincing, nope, giving people permission to run……and hopefully inspire those that wanna run…to run…..
This morning’s group, 43 combined are signed up, 24 joined in the fun this morning it’s all recorded, and there’s lots of emails….and all seemed engaged…so this will be good, and honestly, this stuff worked both ways, I get inspired as well….as I answer questions, listen to those in the clinics, I’m forced to think, become introspective, learn more or understand more…….a great two way street….and yeah, that light bulb moment when someone gets it…that’s so worth it, doing this….love it…
And there’s always, always the few that connect….I wish I could actually run with them all in person, but, we’ll they’re from all over this country, sometimes the continent……
I always wonder why those get it, and connect and trust me…..maybe it’s because I’m one of them……not an elite, I have not, and will never win a race or even the top 10….I can in 3rd once in a 10 mile race in my age group……so everything those that join in know that I understand and are and have been where they’ve been….and I always know and understand what’s needed….I use guest speakers for everything..and it’s all about them, not me……
I was sort of planning a run today, but that talk, that interaction helped me get my butt out that door!

This was a good day….crossed paths with a few people I hadn’t seen for a while – which is one of the best things about getting outside and running…..can’t do that on a treadmill……actually seeing real people…
Yes, I understand why some people insist on running indoors on a treadmill, maybe…..I’ve been on a treadmill 3 times in my lifetime….I sometimes tell people 5 times, but seriously twice because I wanted to see how different organizations assessed people’s gait….and that was interesting…….also once because I was told to while recovering from a fractured ankle/lower left fibula..that lasted I think 20 minutes, on a treadmill that was aimed at a window, it was pouring rain on a path on Shelter Island in San Deigo…..after 20 minutes, screw it, I was going outside.
Today’s run….was perfect…hills, the weather was just right, warm, no wind….and sunny……and social….
better yet…..fun!
Running should never be hard, or at least not awful, it should be fun…..something you want to do…on a treadmill, in front of a TV screen…..really.
The reason I run?…I do have to remind myself of this every so often, but, well, it’s because it’s fun, because I like to, that’s all…it’s like being a 64 year old kid…I get to play……I don’t need numbers, know my speed, try to speed past other runners…I just like to be outside, and, well, like a kid, have fun….
Also, while running…I’m not watching the news, I’m not eating, well, CHEEZIES…..and yes, sometimes running is just better for my mentle health, I’m happier after…..less bothers me……I feel better, and am better…..and yes, biking and swimming results in the same thing…
This blog today has kind of got away from me….but yeah, I had a great day….and I was able to share that….and hopefully, may inspire others to, well…lets get out and have fun
