Maybe the sun was in my eyes.
I was dead tired. Woke up with a headache. Did not feel all that great.
I needed to get outside. The lady that helps with my autistic, well, me and her don’t mesh all that well, so needed to get out of the house…there’s insentive and motivation for you….annoyance.
Then there was the decision…..where?
How far……..?
I didn’t really feel up to heading to the river valley…I missed a 6K run earlier this week…so to our RRoom store parking lot with a 6K route in mind.
Started off, saw too many heading the way I wanted to go, so, well, let’s go east.
A great idea….

The best thing about heading east….a lot of choices…..and I quickly picked the furthest…so 6K, became 8K.
It was a perfect morning, lots of others on the trails, ran across a friend I hadn’t seen for ever…..so stopped, chatted….
then carried on…..a loop and back…..and then, well, could I add 2 more K?….Sure….one of the few times, 10K became just a 10K
Not 10.5, not 11…just 10, okay 10.1K
It was perfect…the head and heart needed it….I am not sure where this training plan is headed, maybe just to a summer of being active….and having fun in the sun..
don’t really care…..it just feels so good….I’m not sure about the head, allergies?……
The day ended with Tacos a la dad…..a good day, and yep, I LOVE RUNNING!
And you know what….yep, I’m almost 64 .5…..64 and a half….. comfortable home, run clinics to coach, run clubs to lead, races and events to help run…and races to run…..next one, pretty much the first of the year, called 5 Peaks, almost 8K with lots and lots of hills…..so, it is a wonderful life…
