I went for a run. That felt okay. I need that 7K run……made the route up as I went along..and still had time to get groceries…
That’s not what I thought was so cool……..it’s the 43rd anniversary of Terry Fox running his marathon of hope….and the 43rd anniversary of the Terry Fox run….so many of us have followed his lead, given, have run, raised donations……and never gave up on his dream.
Yesterday I worked a race, the Terry Fox run here in St. Albert….I was the guy setting up the start finish line, and cheering my ass off….it always feels good to be doing something…that was inspiring..kids, people with canes, some really good runners, some just beginning or just running for the cause…..some biked the course…an amazing morning….but that wasn’t it.
Today, driving home from my run, I came across a huge number of school kids having a blast doing their Terry Fox run today…..wow…I don’t know how many of them there were, but they looked like they were having so much fun, I liked seeing that.
Fun, running for fun……I like doing that too, but I like others doing that…guess that’s why I like run club, leading run club, and leading run clinics….others catching that bug.

It’s September…I always think of this time as the time for change…to renew, to start again….yeah, yeah, it’s 18 days in, but now’s as good a time as any…..a time to think, dream, focus, and get ready to turn 65….
